What is the legal foundation of our use of your data?
We need to process your data to carry out our contract with you, in order for you to stay at one of our campsites or take part in one of our organised activities. We are also permitted to process your data when there are legitimate reasons to do so. Examples of legitimate reasons are the onsite surveillance cameras, which increase the safety of both guests and staff, prevention or resolution of misuse of our WiFi network, and potential credit card fraud checks. Furthermore, a legitimate interest exists when using data to optimise our service.
The use of data for use on social media, photographs from our apps and the sending of newsletters will happen with your written consent only. You can find our legitimate interests described in this privacy statement. Other particular occasions when we would need to handle your data concern cases where this would be in your, or someone else's vital interest (such as an injury you or your child sustains on the campsite, when we may need to inform an ambulance crew).

There are some cases were we, when necessary, share your details with external parties. However, we will never sell your details to external parties. Amending or Deleting your Data

You can also request us to delete information and to refrain from using information in future. We are permitted however (in case this is necessary) to keep the information you gave us consent for earlier.
You can receive certain information from us in the customary format. This applies for electronic data that you supplied to us, information you generated with us and information we used when we entered into a contract with you or for which you gave your consent.

Who is responsible for your data?
Kennemer Duincampings B.V., established at Zeeweg 31, 1901 NZ, Castricum, is responsible for the management of personal data in their possession.
Our campsites are fitted with security cameras. This is important for your safety, as well as that of our colleagues and the other guests. All recordings are erased after four weeks, unless there are good reasons to keep them, such as a police investigation.
When visiting one of our sites, you can use Wi-Fi. As soon as you are logged into our Wi-Fi network, data is automatically collected, such as the identification number (MAC address) of your device. This data is deleted after one year and is only used by KDC to prevent possible abuse. If illegal activities take place from our Wi-Fi network, we can block access to our Wi-Fi network from the device you are using.
KDC uses cookies and other techniques on kennemerduincampings.nl, campingdelakens.nl, campingbakkum.nl and campinggeversduin.nl. Cookies are small information files that are stored on the device you use to visit our website, such as a computer, tablet, smartphone or smartwatch. Where we refer to “cookies” below, we also mean other similar techniques.
Cookies make it possible to recognise your web browser. This is useful, because you do not have to enter your details, indicate preferences or adjust your settings again and again. This also allows us to improve the functioning of our website, to gain insight into visitor behaviour on the website and to allow other parties to gain insight into your surfing behaviour, so that they can show personalised advertisements across multiple websites and omit non-relevant advertisements.
Cookies do not endanger the security of your computer. We distinguish between different types of cookies:
Functional cookies
These are necessary for the website to function properly. For example, they ensure that you are shown the desired information quickly and correctly, every time you visit our website. No permission is required to place functional cookies.
Analytical cookies
We use these to analyse how our website is used, for example how often our website is visited, on which page you arrive on our website, which pages are clicked on the most. If the analytical cookies do not have a major impact on privacy, no permission is required, otherwise it is.
Tracking cookies
These are cookies that can track your surfing behaviour on our website. In this way, we and advertisers can show personalised online advertisements and customised content based on your surfing behaviour.
The cookies remain stored on the device for up to twelve months after your last visit. You can always turn off cookies yourself or delete them from your device. How you can do this differs per type of internet browser and device. If you choose to delete cookies, the website may no longer function optimally and you will not be able to use some services.
When you make a booking online, your transaction details are registered in order to process the payment. We are required by tax law to store details of each booking for seven years.
If you pay with a credit card, we can perform a fraud check, depending on the amount of the order. We then check whether the credit card has (possibly) been or can be used for fraudulent transactions. We do this based on, among other things, the country of issue of the credit card, postcode and country. If we determine that the credit card has been or can be used for fraudulent transactions, we will let you know and you will not be able to complete the online order with that credit card and you will have to pay in another way. This data is stored for 90 days.
During the online booking, you can also log in to the my environment with your my-KDC account, so that you do not have to enter your details again. In that case, we link your booking details to your my-KDC account.
If you download one of the KDC apps, you will always have us at hand.
When you use a KDC app, we register your IP or MAC address and information about how you use the app. With this data, we gain insight into how the apps are used and we can improve them. We store this data for one year. Cookies are also stored to make the app work as optimally as possible. You can read all about this in our Cookie Policy.
Activities are regularly held at our campsites. From an organisational point of view, it is important for us to know who is participating. In addition, we can provide you with information about the time and place and send you a reminder just before the event.
It can also be very interesting for us to find out what type of guest attended the activity. That is why we need certain information from you in order to participate in a campaign or an event, such as name, date of birth, email address and telephone number. We store this information for two years.
If you have a my-KDC account, your participation can be linked to this account.
When you make a booking with us, an online account is created for you. Your name, address and place of residence, e-mail address, telephone number, family composition and period of stay are stored here. We need this information to complete your booking.
Once you have a my-KDC account, you can indicate whether you want to receive messages by e-mail. This way we know where to find you if we have something nice in store for you (new products, unique offers, inspiring workshops) or want to inform you about something else.
In your account you also have insight into your payment history and any outstanding amounts.
If you no longer actively use your my-KDC account, your account will be deleted after seven years.
If you want to stay informed about new, special products, offers and inspiration, you can register for the monthly Camping newsletter. We will then register your name and email address to carry out your request.
In order to make the newsletter as relevant as possible for you, we may ask you a few more questions to get to know you better.
Every newsletter you receive has an option to unsubscribe.
For a stay at one of our campsites, we need some of your details. This includes your name, telephone number, address, email address, date of birth and family/group composition. We use this information to provide you with the best possible holiday and to contact you if you have any questions during your stay with us.
It is possible that our employees will take photos or videos during your stay. They will always ask your written permission for this. And they will ask you to fill in a Quitclaim. These photos and videos will be used for 3 years to promote the campsite.
We will automatically create a my-KDC account, or link your booking to your existing account.
Every day, a whole team of KDC is ready to help you, answer questions, and solve problems. You can reach our employees via various channels, including by phone, chat box on our website, email, social media and of course during your stay at one of our sites.
If you have a question or complaint, we need some information from you. This includes your name, email address, telephone number and other information that is needed to process your question or complaint. We also use this information to keep you informed about your question or complaint. After your question or complaint has been processed, we will retain the information for another year. This allows us to serve you better if you need us later.
KDC uses social media to keep you informed about the latest products and activities, to give you a look behind the scenes or tips in the area. You can follow us on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter and Pinterest.
There are no conditions attached to the use of social media by KDC. You agree to the conditions of the social media platform.
Contact via socials
If you ask us a question via social media, we will save that message and your account name, so that we can respond to your message. For more information, see Contact with our reception.
We also sometimes approach you via Instagram to ask if we can use a photo of you for marketing purposes. We will contact you if you post a photo and mention (campsites of) KDC by tagging or using a hashtag. We will not use the photo without your permission.
